Maar voor de rest gaat eigenlijk alleen maar "proper" water het filter in door het overloop systeem. De microscopische vuiltjes en alle nitraten en nitrieten worden daar dan verwerkt door de bacteriecultuur, en daar moet je van af blijven. (= biologisch filter)

Alleen de ingang van het filter, gemakkelijk te bereiken, daar bevindt zich een klein stukje filtermateriaal dat regelmatig gespoeld wordt, want daar zit dan wat grof vuil tegen aan (plantendeeltjes, dode vliegjes, enz...). Het bodemvuil in het watergedeelte (grof vuil) kan ook regelmatig (2 x per jaar) eens afgeheveld worden.

Basic is the isolation material (2 to 15 cm) wich is modelated (special technique) and then covered with a special material to keep natural materialon it. It 's impossible to explain in details. Sorry. You have to see how I do it.

In this biological environment there is no cleaning, exept fot the windows, removing some dead leaves, ... The biological filtre is very important, spraying the walls and plants regularly brings all the dirty shit a.o. to this filtre where the bacterial live does the job. There is no problem having frogs in this environment, many years of experience proves this. They enjoy such a natural environment.

One backwall = 180 cm, another backwall = 120 cm, two small side wall = 40 cm, glas front = 160cm, height = 120 cm

what are the dimensions on the enclosure?

In the front there is very little sand, but in the corners there is a layer of 10cm sand. There are severall natural hiding places, so they don't borrow any more and they don't need the sand. With much sand in the front, there is always sand in the glidings fot the windows, witch is very anoying.

Ik denk het wel. Salamanders moeten het over het algemeen veel koeler hebben, maar de tricolors moeten ook niet zo warm zitten als de meeste andere pijlgifkikkers. De salamanders gaan ook de koudere bodemzone bewonen. Ik heb momenteel, wegens een verhuis herstructurering, noodgedwongen een marmersalamander bij de tricolors zitten, niet zijn juiste omgeving, maar dit gaat toch al bijna twee jaar goed.

Kan ik toevallig ook wat Amerikaanse groene watersalamanders erbij zetten? graag hoor ik wat terug. ben nu de bak aan het inrichten ;D

Die "dure" spuitbussen kan je in België in praktisch iedere doe-het-zelf markt vinden.

@890321654987 Impossible to explain, it's my own system. The plants can grow on top of the wall, not into them. The toplayer is too hard for the roots ... but everywhere there are holes where the plants (epyphites) can be fixed in and after a while the roots of bromeliads are fixed onto the wall (or bottem, or waterfal).

how did you make the walls? can the plants grow into the walls?

@wendigolycan Yes, at 0.41 it is the Ficus panama. You can only find this nice plant at special vivarium meetings or specialised tropical plant cultivators. I have them at home (Belgium).
